How to use references

I would encourage you get in the good academic habit of using references to back up assertions or statements of fact that you may wish to make in your reflective writing. Wikipedia is not an appropriate reference. If you want the long explanation read Like Boiling a Frog.

You should reference original pieces of academic literature instead. Wikipedia does have its uses: there is a simple guide to writing references (also called citations) on here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ Citation

I have written a short article on my blog about continuity of care with references that you can read as an example.

It'll raise you above the morass of your fellow students very quickly if you get the hang of it at this stage!
